It´s an American animated, comedy series created by Matt Groening for Fox Broadcasting, that´s shown in various countries worldwide.
The series is a satire about American society that follows the day-to-day life of a middle class family in a fictional kown called Sprwithingfield.
The main characters are Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa anda Maggie Simpson.
The series was first aired on 17th December 1989. Until 22nd May 2011, 486 had been made, for 22 season. Time Magazine vored it the best series of the 20th century.
In addition to the Simpson family there are some ofther important characters: Abraham Simpson, Krusty the clown, Patty and Selma, Moe, Chief Wiggum, Apu, Montgomery Burns, Waylon Smithers, Skinner, Ned Flanders, to name a few.
Homer, is the dad, he works as a security inspector at the nuclear power plant in Springfield.
Marge is a stereotypical house wife with three children problem child Bart, 10 years old, Lisa the precocious activist, 8 years old, and baby Maggie who doesn´t speak but communicates by sucking her dummy. Some don´t recommend this series because of the rebellious Bart, who frequently goes unpunished for his bad behaviour.
But it is recommendid for being a great animated series with lots of humour and has won many awards.
